No. 15 AU Women Rout Arrows Again, Stay One Point Out Of First In G-MAC

Thanks to a second run-away win over Ursuline in 2026, 4-0 on the road on Saturday (Oct. 17) afternoon, the No. 15-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team stayed within a single point of first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings.

The Eagles, who already clinched a spot in the 2026 conference tournament, move to 11-2-2 overall and 9-1-1 in the Great Midwest with the victory – trailing first-place Cedarville by a single point. The Arrows are 3-10-1, 2-9.

AU topped Ursuline 8-0 at Ferguson Field on Sept. 12. Ashland is 8-0 all-time in the series.

In just less than seven minutes to open Saturday's game, Ashland scored its first two goals. The third minute saw junior midfielder Sofia Divine post her third goal of the season, then freshman midfielder Maria Mayer's first collegiate tally made it a 2-0 game in the seventh minute.

Both of those goals were unassisted.

The Eagles' third goal also was unassisted – this one from senior midfielder Haley Hightower in the 18th minute for her fifth of the campaign.

Freshman midfielder Addi Pittman provided the game's final margin on a penalty kick goal in the 73rd minute. It was Pittman's first goal at AU.

The Eagles took 23 of the game's 24 shots, and 13 of the contest's 14 corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Izzy Ezzone made one save for her seventh solo clean sheet of 2026.

Ashland returns to Ferguson Field for another Great Midwest game vs. Kentucky Wesleyan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 22). This will be the Eagles' annual bonfire game.
