Ashland University's men's golf team began play at the Ken Partridge Invitational on Sunday (April 6) at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind., and the Eagles' first-round 294 puts them in 10
th place in the 20-team all-Midwest Region field.
The Eagles were paced by junior
Carter Mishler, who is tied for 30
th individually after an opening-round even-par 72. Mishler had two birdies on the day.
Another junior,
Lukas Schreck, is tied for 35
th following a 73 which featured three birdies. Senior
Matthew McMullen is tied for 48
th after a 74 with four birdies.
Freshmen
Charlie Fish (tied for 59
th, 75, two birdies) and
Shaun Mazzalupi (tied for 69
th, 76, one birdie) rounded out the team showing on Sunday.
Wayne State is the first-round team leader at 283, while Drury and Missouri S&T are tied for second after matching 285s.
