Eagles Add To Provo Marks To End Virginia Challenge

The second and final day of the Virginia Challenge on Saturday (April 19) saw the Ashland University men's outdoor track and field team add to its provisional total for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, at Pueblo, Colo. on May 22-24.
 
In the men's pole vault, junior Garrett Baker turned in a new provo mark in finishing in second place at 5.20 meters/17-feet-0Âľ.
 
Senior Jacob Pielech took 12th in the men's 400-meter dash, and at 47.24 seconds, recorded an improved provo.
 
To end the meet, Ashland's men's 4x400 relay team of senior Colin Hunkele, junior Derrick Amapps, senior Noah Wood and Pielech took third place in 3:10.35 – also an improved provo.
