Four multiple-run innings guided the No. RV Ashland University baseball team to a 14-7 win at Ohio Dominican on Tuesday (April 1) – another non-conference game for the Eagles against the conference rival Panthers this spring.
With a 13
th win in the last 15 outings, Ashland improves to 19-8. ODU is 9-20.
After ODU struck first with single runs in the bottom of the first and second innings, Ashland countered with its first four runs in the third. Bases-loaded walks from freshman first baseman

Noah Goddard tied the game, then senior center fielder
Cam Miller's two-run single gave the Eagles the lead.
Then, it was the Panthers' turn to rally, and with four runs in the fourth, they took a 6-4 lead. Ohio Dominican added another run in the fifth to go up 7-4.

Collin Overholt hit a solo home run in the sixth, his third of 2025, to cut the AU deficit to two runs at 7-5, then senior third baseman
Jeremiah Cangelosi launched his third round tripper of the season, a two-run shot, to knot the game at 7.
Ashland then put up its third crooked number of the day in the eighth, posting three runs thanks to a Cangelosi RBI single, then a two-run hit by junior second baseman
Gavin Dobbels.
The Eagles' lead grew to what would be the final margin of victory in the ninth when graduate left fielder
Max Caron added a run-scoring single, Cangelosi drew a bases-loaded walk, Dobbels lifted a sacrifice fly, and senior catcher
Ben Peltz joined in with an RBI single.
BEAVER STRONG IN RELIEF…AND THE REST OF THE STORY
- Senior left-handed pitcher Brendan Beaver (1-4) pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief on Tuesday, earning his first win of 2025. He struck out one and allowed two hits.
- Cangelosi drove in four runs and was 2-for-3 with three walks, two runs scored and the homer. Caron was 3-for-4 (season batting average up to .476) with four runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base, and Dobbels drove in three runs.
- Tuesday's game featured 21 runs, 18 hits, 24 walks and 26 runners left on base.
