Men’s Basketball Loses At Hillsdale In Conference Tourney Opener

On Tuesday (March 4) night in Michigan, Ashland University's men's basketball team's 2024-25 season ended following a 76-59 loss to Hillsdale in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal.

The Eagles, who earned a spot in an 11th consecutive conference tournament this season, finished at 15-13.

Hillsdale (20-9) built up a 33-12 lead outside of the seven-minute mark of the first half, and led 43-28 at halftime. Ashland chipped away at that deficit in the second half, and trailed by five points twice at 50-45 and 53-48, but back-to-back Charger 3-point field goals pushed their lead back to 11 points.

Ashland's deficit was 65-58 with less than 4½ minutes to go, then Hillsdale's late 9-0 run sealed its victory.
