Men’s Golf Opens Findlay Spring Invite In 10th Place

The first two rounds at the Findlay Spring Invite in Richmond, Ky., were played on Monday (March 24), and Ashland University's men's golf team stands in 10th place in the 18-team field.
 
Senior Matthew McMullen led the Eagle effort on Monday, finishing at 70-74—144 and with eight birdies. McMullen is tied for 21st individually.
 
Freshman Mark Pillar is tied for 34th (76-71—147, four birdies), junior Carter Mishler is tied for 40th (75-73—148, six birdies), freshman Shaun Mazzalupi is tied for 46th (73-76—149, four birdies), and rookie Charlie Fish is tied for 60th (75-76—151, five birdies).
 
Playing as an individual in the tourney is freshman Sam Sutton, who is tied for 40th (75-73—148, three birdies).
 
As a team, the Eagles are at 293-294—587 through 36 holes. The host Oilers (279-288—567) and Missouri-St. Louis (283-284—567) are tied for first, with Wayne State is in third (283-286—569).
