Four All-American Showings Highlight Indoor Track & Field Nationals Day 2

On Day 2 of the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., four Ashland University individuals/relays earned All-American honors.
 
Friday's (March 14) highlight was the women's weight throw final, where sophomore Molly Winner earned her first All-American award by finishing in second place at 19.93 meters/65-feet-4Âľ.
 
Senior Wyatt Cory, in his first nationals appearance, earned his first All-American citation with a seventh-place finish in the men's heptathlon with 5,351 points.
 
Another senior, Caden Morris, also garnered his first All-American award by finishing eighth in the men's long jump at 7.27 meters/23-feet-10ÂĽ.
 
To end the day, the women's distance medley relay quartet of graduate Hope Sievert, juniors Montana Walker and Jade Avance, and senior Lily Dowdell also placed eighth in 11:35.84. It is Avance's third All-American honor, Walker's second, and Sievert and Dowdell's first each at AU.
 
Through two days at nationals, the Eagle women's nine team points are good for 11th place, and the AU men's three team points have them tied for 20th.
 
Also in the women's weight throw final, sophomore Leslie Pollock ended in ninth at 19.16 meters/62-feet-10½. Senior Brock Janowicz placed 12th in the men's weight throw (18.84 meters/61-feet- 9¾).

In Friday's prelims:
  • Senior D.J. Duncan finished second in 7.86 seconds to move on to Saturday's (March 15) finals.
  • Avance took sixth in the women's 800 run (2:07.95) to advance to Saturday's finals.
  • Fifth-year Aniya Seward was 15th in the women's 60 hurdles in 8.57 seconds.
  • Sophomore Brianna Chenevey finished 18th in the women's 200 dash in 24.74 seconds.
