On Saturday (March 1) in Tampa, Fla., the No. 21-ranked Ashland University baseball team lost 12-4 to Minnesota Crookston in the second game of the Eagles' annual Spring Break trip.

The Golden Eagles (5-4) jumped on top with a run in the top of the first inning, then added seven runs in the top of the third and three in the top of the fifth.

Ashland (4-3) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run home run by senior catcher
Ben Peltz, his first of the season. After a Crookston run in the top of the sixth, senior third baseman
Jeremiah Cangelosi's two-run blast, his first of 2025, cut the deficit to eight.

- Graduate left fielder Max Caron went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, Cangelosi was 2-for-4 with the homer, two RBIs and a run scored, and junior left fielder Billy Howard finished 2-for-4.
- Senior right-handed pitcher Cam Scott (0-1) allowed five hits, six runs and four walks and struck out two in two innings.
