Lily Dowdell just can't stop breaking Ashland University indoor track records – even her own.
On Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon at the Ashland Collegiate Tune-Up at the Niss Athletic Center, Dowdell bettered her own school mark in the women's 3,000-meter run by crossing the finish line in 9:36.03.
That time is nearly nine seconds better than the record time (9:44.93) she posted at Indianapolis, Ind., in the end of January.
Earlier this winter, Dowdell also broke school indoor women's standards in the 5,000 run and mile run, and was part of a school-record-breaking distance medley relay.
Five more new and improved provisional times were earned toward the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships, March 13-15 in Indianapolis, Ind..
- Fifth-year Doniven Jackson in the men's 200 dash (first place, 21.63 seconds, new provo).
- Sophomore Odessa Smith in the women's 60 hurdles (second place, 8.62 seconds, improved provo).
- Sophomore Brian Turner in the men's 400 dash (fourth place, 48.41 seconds, new provo).
- Junior Nate Slater in the men's 800 run (fourth place, 1:51.99, new provo).
- Sophomore Zach Vales in the men's 800 run (fifth place, 1:52.17, new provo).
FIRST PLACE
- Fifth-year Aniya Seward in the women's 60 hurdles (8.617 seconds).
- Senior D.J. Duncan in the men's 60 hurdles (8.03 seconds).
- Graduate Alena Williams in the women's 200 dash (25.01 seconds).
SECOND PLACE
- Sophomore Colton Thress in the men's 800 run (1:51.73).
- Redshirt freshman Ty Allen in the men's 60 hurdles (8.30 seconds).
- Jackson in the men's 60 dash (6.93 seconds).
- Junior Abby Wheeler in the women's high jump (1.66 meters/5-feet-5¼).
- Sophomore Sidney Sheppert in the women's long jump (5.31 meters/17-feet-5¼).
- Fifth-year Chris Graber in the men's triple jump (13.40 meter/43-feet-11¾).
- Sophomore Justin Richards in the men's long jump (7.01 meters/23-feet-0).
THIRD PLACE
- Senior Madison Stacey in the women's 200 dash (25.32 seconds).
- Sophomore Liam Mann in the men's 60 dash (7.00 seconds).
- Graber in the men's long jump (7.00 meters/22-feet-11¾).
- Junior Garrett Baker in the men's pole vault (5.33 meter/17-feet-5¾).
- Senior Hannah Berheide in the women's 400 dash (58.96 seconds).
- Senior Brock Janowicz in the men's weight throw (18.57 meters/60-feet-11¼).
- Freshman Olivia Saylor in the women's 800 run (2:22.73).
- Seward in the women's triple jump (10.88 meters/35-feet-8½).
- Senior Sarah Masuoka in the women's pole vault (3.72 meters/12-feet-2½).
On Friday (Feb. 21) at the GVSU Tune-Up, the women's 4x400 relay broke its own school record from earlier this season. The quartet of junior

Also on Friday, Janowicz improved upon his previous provo mark in the men's weight throw at 19.45 meters/63-feet-9 in a third-place finish.
