Ashland University's men's basketball team began play at Indiana (Pa.)'s Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday (Nov. 22), topping the host Crimson Hawks in Johnstown, Pa., 82-80.
A third consecutive win puts the Eagles are 3-1, while IUP is 2-1.
In a matchup in which the lead changed 14 times and neither team had a lead of larger than seven points, Ashland's offense hummed once again to the tune of 58.8-percent shooting from the field and 19 assists on 30 made field goals.
Senior forward
Maceo Williams' first double-double of 2025-26 came in the form of game-highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Williams was 8-of-11 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line, and he added three assists and a pair of steals.
Junior wing
Cooper Davis followed with 22 points, and, for a second straight game, redshirt freshman point guard
Jordan Edwards dished out a career-high dozen assists.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Redshirt freshman guard Max Dawson came off the bench for 13 points on 5-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc.
- Ashland forced 10 IUP turnovers, resulting in 17 points.
