Playing a third consecutive Great Midwest Athletic Conference road contest on Friday (Oct. 3) night, Ashland University's volleyball team took a 3-1 (25-18, 25-27, 25-15, 25-22) decision at Lake Erie.

With a sixth win in the last seven matches, the Eagles improve to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the league. The 13-match start is AU's best since 2019 (11-2).

Friday's match was Ashland's second win in two weeks over the Storm, and the Eagles' 10
th victory overall in the series.

Ashland has had success with its freshman class so far this fall, and that continued on Friday night with outside hitter
Kelsey Lykins. Lykins not only had a career-high and match-high 14 kills, her career-high and match-high .520 hitting percentage continued a trend of late – a .500 or better percentage in three of the last four outings.

- Junior setter Marin Dixon dished out 44Â assists, while adding four kills, five digs and four block assists.
- Four AU players finished with double-digit digs – junior libero Abbey Queen (33), freshman defensive specialist Sydney Weickert (16), sophomore outside hitter Samantha Young (15) and senior defensive specialist Macy McNamara (14).
- Lake Erie was kept to a team hitting percentage of .081.
