Ashland University Director of Tennis Operations
Eric Gibson has been named the head men's and women's tennis coach at NCAA Division III Juniata College.
Gibson was in his third athletic year with the Eagles.
"I am very grateful and blessed for my time spent as the head tennis coach at Ashland University," Gibson said. "My two-plus years at Ashland were very formative in my development as a young coach. I learned countless valuable lessons, and I've grown so much as a professional while being here.
"I truly loved getting to coach, mentor, and support my wonderful, hard-working group of student-athletes, and I wish the very best to all the friends I've made during my time in Ashland, Ohio."
Said Ashland Director of Athletics
Al King, "I appreciate all the time and effort Eric put into our tennis program. While his stint here was short, Eric was able to bring some new ideas and perspectives to our program.
"Outside of on-court coaching, Eric did a lot to increase the connection between the campus community, the city of Ashland and our tennis program. We wish him the best as he heads home to Pennsylvania."
Gibson led the AU men's and women's tennis teams to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament in the spring of 2024, as the Eagle women won 14 matches and the Ashland men won 13 during the 2023-24 campaign.
Juniata will be Gibson's fourth head coaching position, following Ashland, Chestnut Hill and Penn State-Abington.
