Opening the 2024 season on Thursday (Sept. 5) afternoon at Ferguson Field, Ashland University's men's soccer team (0-1) lost a 4-0 decision to Davis & Elkins (1-0).
After a feeling-out process for about a half of a half, the Senators dented the scoreboard in the 23
rd minute when Johan Magana scored on a back-tap assist from Yavi Ortiz.
Davis & Elkins' second goal came off of the Eagles, as an AU own goal gave the Senators a multi-goal advantage.
In the 73
rd minute, Hugo Fauli's goal on a feed from Shemar Daley made it a 3-0 contest. Another Ashland own goal in the 77
th minute provided the final margin of victory for Davis & Elkins.

- The Senators out-shot the Eagles by a slim 17-16 margin.
- Ashland had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks, 8-4.
- Senior goalkeeper Ty Bowden made four saves on Thursday.
