Hailey Rios apparently liked being Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Freshman of the Meet that she wanted to do it again.

After earning the honor indoors in March, Rios did so again on Friday (May 3) after the third and final day of the 2024 Great Midwest Outdoor Championships at Hillsdale. Rios was part of the winning women's 4x400-meter relay team, along with senior
Elizabeth Adams, sophomore
Jade Avance and junior
Mia Gardner, that finished in 3:39.74. That time was an improved provisional mark for the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships, May 23-25 in Emporia, Kan..

Rios also was part of the second-place women's 4x100 relay, along with freshman
Odessa Smith, senior
Alena Williams and junior
Greta Barker (45.66, improved provo), finished third in the women's 100 dash in 11.92 seconds, and was fourth in the women's 200 dash in 24.30 seconds. On Thursday (May 2), Rios won the conference title in the women's long jump.

The men's 4x400 relay won with an improved provo time as well, as senior
Brenden Jackson and juniors
Noah Wood,
Ethan Schuster and
Jacob Pielech turned in a time of 3:09.33.

In the women's 400 dash, Adams won with an improved provo time of 54.32 seconds, while in the men's 400 hurdles, Jackson did the same in 51.45 seconds. Senior
T.J. Skinner took the men's 110 hurdles in 14.21 seconds.

Emma Liberatore tied for the conference title in the women's high jump, finishing in 1.67 meters/5-feet-5¾.

In the final team standings, Ashland's women were second with 152 points (trailing only Findlay's 194.5), and the Eagle men were third with 146 points (behind only Findlay's 189 and Tiffin's 157).
