Briefly going out of conference play on Tuesday (April 9) afternoon, Ashland University's men's tennis team topped Grove City College on the road, 6-3.
The Eagles improve to 11-4, and have their highest single-season win total since 2018-19 (13). The Wolverines are 7-3.
Ashland won one of three doubles matches to start the day, as the sophomore duo of
Gabriel Seminario and
Reid Opel took an 8-2 decision.
At singles, the Eagles won five of six matches – with the clincher being sophomore
Benedikt Weinboerner at No. 5 (6-4, 6-4). Also earning singles victories for AU were freshman
Batsomi Marobela at No. 1 (6-2, 6-4), Opel at No. 2 (6-4, 5-7, 1-0), Seminario at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), and freshman
Doug Cree at No. 4 (6-1, 6-1).
