Janowicz Improves On Provisional Mark In Hammer Throw To Start Jesse Owens Classic

On the first day of Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic on Friday (April 19), Ashland University junior Brock Janowicz improved upon his previous provisional mark for outdoor nationals in the men's hammer throw by five feet.
 
Janowicz finished 14th in the men's hammer throw on Friday, finishing at 58.72 meters/192-feet-8 (his first throw of the day), an improved provo mark toward the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships, May 23-25 in Emporia, Kan..
 
Also on Friday, senior Brenden Jackson finished second in the men's 400-meter hurdles in 53.21 seconds.
