Track and Field Dusty Sloan, Ashland University Director of Athletic Communications

Baker, Madison Earn First D-II All-American Honors

The second and final day of the 2024 NCAA Division II indoor track and field Championships at Pittsburg State on Saturday (March 9) saw two Ashland University student-athletes earn their first All-American citations.
 
In the men's pole vault, sophomore Garrett Baker's personal best of 5.24 meters/17-feet-2¼ earned him a fifth-place finish. In the men's 800-meter run, another sophomore, Daylen Madison, took sixth in 1:49.84.
 
With seven team points, Ashland's men finished in 29th place in the team standings.
 
In the women's shot put, junior Kelsey Kinsley was ninth at 14.68 meters/48-feet-2, while redshirt freshman Molly Winner was 16th at 12.50 meters/41-feet-0¼.
 
The women's 4x400 relay saw the quartet of senior Elizabeth Adams, junior Madison Stacey, sophomore Jade Avance and junior Mia Gardner finish 11th in 3:45.40.
