On the first day of the 2024 NCAA Division II indoor track and field Championships on Friday (March 8) at Pittsburg State, two Ashland University runners qualified for the finals in their respective events.

In the men's 60-meter hurdles prelims, senior
T.J. Skinner made it to Saturday's (March 9) finals following a first-round time of 7.88 seconds. Then, in the men's 800 run first round, sophomore
Daylen Madison turned in a time of 1:50.46 – the second-best mark in the prelims.

The men's weight throw final saw junior
Brock Janowicz place 13
th with a top heave of 19.49 meters/63-feet-11½.

Despite a PR time of 55.31 in the women's 400 dash first round, junior
Mia Gardner finished in 15
th place.
