Ashland Outdoor Track And Field Teams Add To National Provos At Tiffelberg Open

On Saturday (March 30) at the Tiffelberg Open, there were new and improved provisional marks aplenty toward the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 23-25 in Emporia, Kan..
  • Junior Jesse Houle won the men's hammer throw with a vastly-improved provo of 64.58 meters/211-feet-10, and junior Brock Janowicz was fourth with a new provo of 57.06 meters/187-feet-2.
  • Junior Sarah Masuoka won the women's pole vault with an improved provo of 3.80 meters/12-feet-5½.
  • The women's 4x400-meter relay of freshman Cassidy Shimp, senior Alena Williams, junior Greta Barker, and freshman Hailey Rios won with a new provo of 46.33 seconds.
  • Senior Brenden Jackson was first in the men's 400 hurdles with an improved provo of 51.46 seconds.
  • The men's 4x400 relay of junior Jacob Pielech, Jackson, freshman Colton Thress and junior Noah Wood was first with a new provo of 3:13.62.
  • Pielech was first in the men's 400 dash with a new provo of 47.27 seconds.
  • Junior D.J. Duncan took second place in the men's 110 hurdles with a new provo of 14.42 seconds.
FIRST PLACE – Junior Lily Dowdell in the women's 1,500 run (4:43.93), junior Abby Below in the women's 400 hurdles (1:04.00), Barker in the women's 200 dash (25.17 seconds), sophomore Daylen Madison in the men's 1,500 run (3:57.92), Williams in the women's 100 dash (11.98 seconds), Rios in the women's long jump (5.36 meters/17-feet-7), freshman Odessa Smith in the women's 100 hurdles (14.32 seconds), senior Hope Sievert in the women's 800 run (2:15.84), the men's 4x100 relay team of junior Julian Griffin, freshman Lucas Anderson, junior Caden Morris, and redshirt freshman Roosevelt Zeigler (41.52 seconds), the women's 4x400 relay of Below, Rios, freshman Jordan Rosales, and Shimp (3:57.09), Zeigler in the men's 200 dash (21.29 seconds), and junior Catherine Dial in the women's shot put (13.35 meters/43-feet-9¾).
 
SECOND PLACE – Freshman Alex Eggleston in the men's 400 hurdles (53.79 seconds), Wood in the men's 400 dash (48.37 seconds), sophomore Nate Slater in the men's 1,500 run (3:58.99), Smith in the women's 100 dash (12.14 seconds), freshman Sidney Sheppert in the women's long jump (5.31 meters/17-feet-5¼), senior T.J. Skinner in the men's 200 dash (21.69 seconds), freshman Kara Fields in the women's 100 hurdles (15.27 seconds), Rosales in the women's 400 dash (58.80 seconds), sophomore Garrett Baker in the men's pole vault (4.70 meters/15-feet-5), junior Hailey Maloon in the women's triple jump (10.44 meters/34-feet-3), the B men's 4x400 relay team (3:18.50), the women's 4x400 relay team of junior Hannah Berheide, senior McKenna Woodruff, Smith and Barker (3:59.92), junior Kelsey Kinsley in the women's hammer throw (49.76 meters/163-feet-3), and redshirt freshman Molly Winner in the women's shot put (13.10 meters/42-feet-11¾).
 
THIRD PLACE – Freshman Avonlea Jefferson in the women's 100 hurdles (15.60 seconds), junior Emilie Lemon in the women's 800 run (2:17.94), Morris in the men's long jump (6.84 meters/22-feet-5¼), Maloon in the women's high jump (tied, 1.55 meters/5-feet-1), sophomore Derrick Amapps in the men's 400 dash (48.93 seconds), and redshirt freshman Leslie Pollock in the women's hammer throw (48.97 meters/160-feet-8).
