Those on the No. 12-ranked Ashland University men's indoor track and field team, and the Eagle women's team, who already had provisional marks for the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships, March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kan., made a point of improving upon those on Friday (Feb. 9) at the Grand Valley State Big Meet.

Five Eagles and a relay turned in season-bests and improved provisional marks on Friday:
- In the women's weight throw invite, redshirt freshman Leslie Pollock took third place with a top heave of 18.19 meters/59-feet-8.
- Sophomore Daylen Madison also was third in the men's 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in 1:50.77.
- Redshirt freshman Molly Winner was fourth in the women's shot put invite at 14.70 meters/48-feet-2¾.
- In the men's weight throw invite, junior Jesse Houle placed fifth at 18.98 meters/62-feet-3.
- The women's 400 dash saw junior Mia Gardner take ninth in 55.84 seconds.
- And the women's 4x400 relay quartet of senior Elizabeth Adams, sophomore Jade Avance, fifth-year Cassandra Ponzi and Gardner was fourth in 3:45.32.
Junior
Brock Janowicz finished third in the men's weight throw invite at 20.04 meters/65-feet-9.
On Saturday (Feb. 10) at the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games, junior
Sarah Masuoka was tied for second in the women's pole vault (3.75 meters/12-feet 3¾), while junior
Dylan Phelps was third in the men's 400 dash (49.09 seconds).
