Eagle Softball Wins Two To Finish Music City Invite

Getting a chance to play both games in a day for the first time in the young 2024 season, Ashland University's softball team took full advantage, winning 7-5 against Davenport and 8-7 in eight innings vs. Illinois Springfield on Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Music City Invitational outside of Nashville, Tenn.

The Eagles are 2-1 after their game against Parkside on Friday (Feb. 16) night was canceled due to rain. Ashland's three games on the weekend were decided by a total of four runs.

Against the Panthers, the Eagles scored single runs in the top of the sixth and seventh innings for the victory. Freshman third baseman Sophia Martin drove in the winning run in the sixth with a two-out single.

In the bottom of the eighth vs. the Prairie Stars, freshman catcher Delaney Keith delivered the game-winning single.
