On Saturday (Jan. 27) afternoon at Kent State, Ashland University's No. 12-ranked men and No. 21-ranked women finished action at the Doug Raymond National Qualifier.

Highlighting the day was junior
Jacob Pielech, who won the men's 400-meter dash by as close of a margin as one can (47.946 seconds to 47.950 seconds), and earned a new provisional mark for the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships, March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kan., in the process. Pielech also was part of the winning men's 4x400 relay that won and improved upon a previous provo time to 3:15.86, along with junior
