Trailing 12-7 in the fifth set of its 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener at Trevecca Nazarene on Friday (Sept. 15), Ashland University's volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 16-14) victory over the Trojans.

The Eagles improve to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while Trevecca is 3-8, 0-2. Of Ashland's seven wins so far in 2023, three have been five-setters.

NOTABLES
- Ashland was paced by the first 20-20 match of junior outside hitter Makenna Belcher's career. Belcher finished with a career-high-tying 20 kills and a career-high 22 digs in the victory.
- Freshman outside hitter Henlie Krause added a career-high 17 kills, while both junior setter Georgi Moody and freshman setter Kylee Urban each finished with 21 assists.
- Senior libero Katie Thompson supplemented 23 digs with a career-high-tying 10 assists.
- Friday night's match featured 29 tie scores and 11 lead changes.
