Playing in its first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament game, Ashland University's softball team lost 3-0 to Hillsdale on Wednesday (May 3) in Findlay, Ohio.

The Eagles are 21-28, and the Chargers are 32-18.

Hillsdale scored first, plating a run in the bottom of the first and third innings for a 2-0 lead. The Eagles loaded the bases in the top of the second on three Hillsdale errors, but didn't score – after AU had runners on second and third with no outs and didn't score to start the game.

Hillsdale added a run in the fourth to increase its lead to the final margin of victory.

- Senior Kayla Ruperto (6-7) went the distance in the pitcher's circle, allowing six hits, three runs and five walks and striking out five.
- Ashland left eight runners on base in the game.
