Baker Moves Up D-II Men’s Pole Vault List At Oakland Last Chance

On Thursday (May 11) night at the Oakland Last Chance track and field meet, Ashland University freshman Garrett Baker may have worked his way into the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships, May 25-27 in Pueblo, Colo.
 
Baker finished second in the men's pole vault in Michigan, improving upon his previous provisional mark and season high to 5.07 meters/16-feet-7½. Prior to Thursday, 5.07 meters was the 10^th-ranked mark in D-II.
