Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams came away with four new provisional marks for the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships, May 25-27 in Pueblo, Colo., at the Northeast Ohio Quad.

On Friday (April 7), sophomore
Brock Janowicz earned a new provisional mark in the men's hammer throw, placing sixth with a top mark of 57.72 meters/189-feet-4. On Saturday (April 8), it was fifth-year
Cheyanne Davis in the women's 400-meter dash (first, 55.66 seconds), sophomore
Sarah Masuoka in the women's pole vault (second, 3.86 meters/12-feet-8), and freshman
Garrett Baker in the men's pole vault (fourth, 5.00 meters/16-feet-4Âľ).

- First-place finishes were earned by three of Ashland's relays – the men's 4x100 relay of sophomore Colin Roberts and freshmen Derrick Amapps, Levi Honderd and Cy Starcher (41.61 seconds); the women's 4x100 relay of senior Morgan Dennis, junior Alena Williams, sophomore Greta Barker and freshman Medgine Wojton (47.52 seconds); and the men's 4x400 relay team Amapps, Roberts, junior Jacob Pielech and sophomore Noah Wood (3:15.95).
- Taking second place were junior T.J. Skinner in the men's 110 hurdles (14.56 seconds), Pielech in the men's 400 dash (48.46 seconds), sophomore Mia Gardner in the women's 400 dash (56.65 seconds), freshman Daylen Madison in the men's 800 run (1:53.50), and fifth-year Storm Elsesser in the men's high jump (2.00 meters/6-feet-6Âľ).
- Third-place showings were turned in by sophomore D.J. Duncan in the men's 110 hurdles (15.14 seconds), freshman Jade Avance in the women's 400 dash (56.86 seconds), Williams in the women's 100 dash (12.36 seconds), senior Cameron Shifflet in the men's 400 hurdles (54.76 seconds), freshman Montana Walker in the women's 400 hurdles (1:06.49), Davis in the women's 200 dash (25.31 seconds), junior Riley Thomas in the women's long jump (5.22 meters/17-feet-1½), freshman Jaycob Kolleda in the men's high jump (1.95 meters/6-feet-4¾), junior Emma Liberatore in the women's high jump (1.60 meters/5-feet-3), fifth-year Carrol Pauley in the women's hammer throw (54.02 meters/177-feet-2), and the women's 4x400 relay of junior Elizabeth Adams, Walker, and sophomores Madison Stacey and Abby Below (4:00.07).
