Women’s Lacrosse Loses Florida Finale To Palm Beach Atlantic

Ashland University's women's lacrosse team played its third and final game in Florida on Friday (March 10) night, losing an 8-5 decision at Palm Beach Atlantic.
 
The Eagles are 2-3 on the young 2023 season, and the Sailfish are 2-1.
 
Ashland scored the night's first two goals, as freshman attacker Rachel Crumbacher and senior midfielder Natalie Sonntag put the Eagles ahead 2-0 after the opening quarter. Palm Beach Atlantic outscored AU 8-3 in the remaining three quarters for the victory.
 
NOTABLES
  • Sonntag scored four of the Eagles' five goals, and has 12 goals in five games this season.
  • Senior goalkeeper Jillian Rekulak made five saves on Friday night.

Ashland will return home to play a game at Ferguson Field on Tuesday (March 14) at 4 p.m. vs. Maryville (5-0).
