Katie (Nageotte) Moon won a national title in the women's pole vault.

Moon was the only competitor to clear 4.80 meters/15-feet-9 on Saturday, as she clinched the victory.

The 2021 Summer Olympics gold medalist in the women's pole vault for Team USA, Moon won two NCAA Division II national titles and was a three-time D-II All-American in two years as an Eagle. She won a gold medal in the women's pole vault at the 2022 World Athletics Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., and a silver medal at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

All-time in world top lists, Moon is No. 4 in the women's outdoor pole vault at 4.95 meters/16-feet-2¾, and No. 5 in the women's indoor pole vault at 4.94 meters/16-feet-2½.

Also on Saturday, another former Eagle national champion,
Trevor Bassitt, finished in fourth place in the men's 400-meter dash in 46.13 seconds. In Friday's (Feb. 17) prelims, Bassitt won his heat and crossed the finish line in 45.96 seconds.

Bassitt concluded his Eagle career with 10 NCAA Division II national championships and 21 D-II All-American honors individually, and as a key cog in three D-II team national titles. Last year, he won a World Athletics outdoor gold medal in the men's 4x400 relay, and a World Athletics outdoor bronze medal in the men's 400 hurdles.

Friday also saw Ashland volunteer assistant throws coach
Rachel Tanczos take third place in the women's weight throw with a big PR of 24.58 meters/80-feet-7¾), while another Eagle volunteer assistant throws coach,
Morgan Shigo, was eighth in the men's weight throw at 22.30 meters/73-feet-2.
