On Saturday (Nov. 4) night on Senior Day at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium, Ashland University's volleyball team lost a 3-2 (22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14) decision to Trevecca Nazarene.

The Eagles go into the final week of the regular season at 21-8 overall and 14-3 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, while the Trojans are 13-17, 9-9.

A highlight in the defeat was senior libero
Katie Thompson, whose team-high 19 digs make her just the second player in program history to record at least 1,800 in a career (1,812). Her 533 digs this season put her in the No. 5 spot for a single-season in Ashland volleyball annals.

POST-MATCH NUGGETS
- Junior outside hitter Makenna Belcher earned 15 kills and 16 digs on Saturday night, senior outside hitter Emily Davis and freshman outside hitter Henlie Krause each added 11 kills, and junior right-side hitter GraceAnn Hartman had 10 kills.
- Freshman setter Kylee Urban (29 assists) and junior setter Georgi Moody (21 assists) combined for 50 of AU's 62 helpers. Thompson, Belcher, Krause (12), Moody (11) and Urban (10) all ended with double-digit digs.
- Saturday night's match featured 38 tie scores and 13 lead changes.
