On Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon at Ferguson Field, Ashland University's men's soccer team took a 2-0 loss to Lake Erie, in a game for sole possession of second place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference table.
The Eagles are 5-7-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the Great Midwest, while the Storm are 7-4-2, 6-2-2.
NOTABLES
- The Storm used a corner kick in the seventh minute to go up 1-0, as Tom Akinola scored off the pass from Maximilian Lintschinger. In the 38th minute, Alex Saggese made it a 2-0 Lake Erie lead shortly after coming on as a substitute, with assists going to Angel Murillo and Randolf Rothe.
- Junior goalkeeper Ty Bowden made three saves on Saturday, as the Storm out-shot the Eagles, 14-12.
- Lake Erie took eight corner kicks to AU's five.
