Trailing 7-0 late in the second quarter, Ashland University's women's lacrosse team scored seven unanswered goals to draw even, but Lewis earned the 9-7 home win on Sunday (March 6) afternoon thanks to two fourth-quarter tallies.
The Eagles are 0-3, and the Flyers are 2-1.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Facing a seven-goal deficit, Ashland received a pair of goals each from junior midfielder Natalie Sonntag, senior midfielder Cora Wilson and junior midfielder Cassady Becker, and a single goal from junior midfielder Madie Gash.
- Wilson also had two assists for a four-point game, and one assist each came from junior attacker Emily Jewell and freshman attacker Isabelle Pisani.
- Senior goalie Nadine Elbarrad stopped a dozen shots to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
UP NEXT
Ashland will finish its stretch of four straight road games to begin 2022 on Tuesday (March 8) at 4 p.m. at McKendree (1-3).
