On Saturday (March 5) night in Winter Haven, Fla., Ashland University's baseball team lost to past and future conference rival Northwood, 6-4.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland went out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by senior third baseman Tim Zeller and a two-run single from senior center fielder Alex Whipple.
- Northwood chipped away with single runs in the second and third, then scored twice in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. The Eagles tied the game at 4 after 4 when senior shortstop Austin Eifrid drove in a run on a fielder's choice.
- The Timberwolves scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings for the win.

THE WRAP-UP
- Eifrid was 2-for-5 with a triple, run scored and an RBI.
- Sophomore right-hander Brad Wolfe took the loss in relief, allowing four hits, two runs (one earned) and three walks and striking out four in four innings.
