A six-run top of the second inning and a strong pitching performance from senior right-hander
Jacob Harsany lifted Ashland University's baseball team to a 11-7 win on Friday (March 11) over Concordia-St. Paul in Florida.
The Eagles' third consecutive win puts them at 7-4, while the Golden Bears are 4-6.
WHAT HAPPENED
- In the six-run second, RBIs were collected by senior shortstop Austin Eifrid (single), senior left fielder Alex Whipple (single), senior third baseman Tim Zeller (ground out) and freshman first baseman Joey Bertani (single). Ashland also scored runs on a throwing error and a wild pitch.
- Zeller and Bertani each drove in three runs, Bertani was 3-for-5, and Zeller and senior pinch-hitter/left fielder Seth Schroeder each had two of AU's 14 hits.
- Harsany fired six scoreless innings to start the game, and finished by allowing five hits, two runs (one earned) and a walk and striking out 10 over seven frames.
- Zeller came in and got the save by getting the final out of the contest.
