The initial weekend for first-year Ashland University track and field head coach
A.G. Kruger and his Eagle men's and women's indoor teams finished with a bevy of provisional marks for the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships, March 10-11 in Virginia Beach, Va.

WHAT HAPPENED
- On Friday (Dec. 2) at Findlay's Oiler Opener, sophomore Brock Janowicz not only won on the men's weight throw at 19.44 meters/63-feet-9, but earned a nationals provo in the process. In the women's weight throw, senior Carrol Pauley (second, 18.32 meters/60-feet-1) and sophomore Kelsey Kinsley (third, 18.28 meters/59-feet-11) each had provo distances.
- Sophomore Sarah Masuoka was second in the women's pole vault with her own provo of 3.70 meters/12-feet-1½.
- Third-place finishes were earned by junior Wyatt Cory in the men's heptathlon (4,669 points) and junior Cole LaRoche in the men's shot put (15.74 meters/51-feet-7Âľ).
- On Friday at the Youngstown State Icebreaker, senior Cheyanne Davis earned her provo by placing second in the women's 400-meter dash in 56.75 seconds. In the men's 60 hurdles, two more provos were collected by sophomore D.J. Duncan (fourth, 8.17 seconds) and junior T.J. Skinner (sixth, 8.22 seconds).
- Sophomore Noah Wood was second in the men's 400 dash in 48.68 seconds, senior Storm Elsesser was the runner-up in the men's high jump seeded (2.01 meters/6-feet-7), and the men's 4x400 relay team of sophomores Noah Harshbarger and Dylan Phelps, and freshmen Derrick Amapps and Levi Honderd took second at 3:17.95.
- In the men's high jump unseeded, freshman Jaycob Kolleda and Phelps finished second and third, respectively, at the same height of 1.90 meters/6-feet-2 3/4. Finishing third was junior McKenna Woodruff in the women's 800 run (2:20.78).
