Fifth-year setter
Zoey Peck is the engine that makes Ashland University's volleyball team's offense go.
Â
Peck also is one of the top setters in the history of Eagle volleyball, having gone past the 5,000-career-assist mark in Saturday's (Oct. 22) 3-0 road win against Kentucky Wesleyan.
Â
The awards for Peck are starting to catch up with her on-court performance, as, for the second consecutive week, as she was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference South Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 24) afternoon.
Â
In road wins last week against Trevecca Nazarene and KWC, Peck had 61 assists in just six sets (10.17/set), to go with six kills, one service aces, 15 digs and three block assists. During the weekend, Peck became the third setter in program history to go back 5,000 career assists (5,027).
Â
So far in 2022, Peck has 856 assists (10.31/set), 45 kills, nine service aces, 194 digs and 40 total blocks.
Â
Ashland (20-6 overall, 13-0 Great Midwest) continues to be the lone Midwest Region volleyball team undefeated in conference play. The Eagles will return to the Sherrill Hudson Court on Kates Gymnasium for Senior Night on Friday (Oct. 28) at 7 p.m. against Cedarville (11-12, 9-4).
