Remy Foeman Wins AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award

Ashland University assistant volleyball coach Remy Foeman was awarded the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 Award, which recognizes up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport.

Nominees must have been younger than 30 years old in 2020 to qualify for the award.

Foeman is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Ashland University volleyball program having joined the staff when her spouse, Kevin, was named AU's head coach in 2018.

Remy, 29, helped guide the Eagles to back-to-back GLIAC South regular season titles in 2018 and 2019 and a 57-20 overall record in three seasons. The Eagles were 14-2 in GLIAC play in 2019 with their .875 conference winning percentage the highest in program history. Ashland qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2018.

In her first two seasons as an assistant coach, all seven starters were named to the postseason All-GLIAC teams.

A former setter in the professional ranks and a four-year letterwinner at the University of Maryland, Foeman tutored setter Zoey Peck to GLIAC and AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year honors in 2018.

She previously served as an assistant coach at Lake Erie from 2015-17 and Hillsdale in 2014. Foeman was the director of volleyball operations at Maryland in 2013.
