Ashland University's volleyball team lost its fourth consecutive match on Saturday (March 27) afternoon at Kates Gymnasium, falling in a 3-1 decision (26-24, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22) to Saginaw Valley State.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss moves the Eagles to 6-6 overall and in the conference, while the Cardinals are 4-8, 4-8.

Junior outside hitter
Erin Krupar led the AU offense with 21 kills, and added 17 digs on defense. Senior outside hitter
Brooke Peiffer added 14 kills and 20 digs, and sophomore setter
Stephanie Smith picked up 45 assists and 22 digs.

For SVSU, Maria Vukaj led the team with 17 kills and 25 digs.

Ashland's regular season will come to a close with two matches vs. Wayne State – Thursday (April 1) at 7 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium, and Saturday (April 3) at 2 p.m. in Detroit, Mich.
