Eagles Fall To Bears To Complete Minnesota Road Trip

The Ashland University lacrosse team lost an 18-5 decision to host Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday (March 21) to complete a two-game series against the Bears in Minnesota.
 
The Bears (3-1, 2-0 GLIAC) outscored the Eagles (1-3, 0-2 GLIAC) by a 12-3 count in the first half on their way to the win.
 
Junior Kristen Ogle scored the Eagles' first goal of the game in a man-down situation with 20:27 remaining to cut the deficit to 3-1.
 
Sophomore Natalie Sonntag gave the Eagles their second midway through the half with an assist coming from senior Ashley Merritt.
 
Freshman Emily Jewell made it 10-3 later in the half with Ogle providing the assist.
 
Ogle and Jewell scored again the second half, but the Bears provided too much offense, scoring five goals in man-up situations.

Lex Seifert scored four goals to lead the hosts.
 
Ashland's freshman goalie Jillian Rekulak made 11 saves while Maddy Huebner stopped 10 shots for the Bears.
 
The Eagles will return to the field on Wednesday (March 24) at 4 p.m. when they take on Tiffin at Ferguson Field.
