The Ashland University baseball team fell behind early on Sunday (March 21) afternoon and was not able to get on track offensively, losing to host Seton Hill, 12-3, in Greensburg, Pa.
The Griffins (8-0), ranked 17
th in the nation, stayed undefeated on the season and finished a two-game sweep of the Eagles (3-6), who have dropped four in a row.
Seton Hill scored the game's first nine runs, including eight in the first three innings before the Eagles could get on the board with three runs in the sixth.
Sophomore
Seth Schroeder led off with a single and eventually scored on a base hit by freshman
Kristian Scalf. Juniors
Alex Whipple and
Austin Eifrid added RBI hits later in the inning to make it a 9-3 game.
The Griffins tacked on three more runs after that to provide the final margin.

Logan Moss had two hits apiece as the Eagles racked up 11 in the game, but they stranded 12 baserunners.
Derek Orndorff went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs and three RBI for the Griffins.
Sophomore right-hander
Michael McBriar took the loss for the Eagles while Cade Negley was credited with the win for the Griffins.
The Eagles will return to the field on Tuesday (March 23) at 3 p.m. when they take on Walsh in North Canton, Ohio.
