Eagles Top Trojans, End Regular Season On Six-Match Win Streak

Ashland University's volleyball team won a hard-fought 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 29-27) decision over Trevecca Nazarene in the 2021 fall regular-season finale on Saturday (Nov. 13) at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium.
 
The Eagles go into the conference postseason on a six-match winning streak, and are 17-12 overall and 13-3 in the league, having won the South Division. The Trojans are 18-10, 9-7.
 
Saturday's four-set match featured 30 tie scores and 10 lead changes.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • Four Eagles had double-digit kills, as AU hit .259 in the match – senior outside hitters Erin Krupar (21) and Heidi Fausze (13), freshman right-side hitter GraceAnn Hartman (11) and senior middle hitter Lexi Lombardo (10).
  • Senior setter Zoey Peck racked up 53 assists in the victory.
  • Defensively, three Eagles recorded 10 or more digs – sophomore libero Katie Thompson (19), junior defensive specialist Stephanie Smith (16) and Krupar (14).
