Eagles Extend Win Streak To Seven After Victory At Trevecca Nazarene

Ashland University's volleyball team continued the strong start to its Great Midwest Athletic Conference tenure on Saturday (Oct. 2) afternoon, as the Eagles topped Trevecca Nazarene, 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-21) in Nashville, Tenn.
 
The Eagles have climbed above the .500 mark for the first time this season at 8-7 overall and 7-0 in the Great Midwest, while the Trojans are 10-6, 3-4.
 
This is Ashland's first win streak of at least seven matches since a seven-matcher from Oct. 18-Nov. 2, 2019.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The competitive sweep not only was shown in the scores in each set, but in the teams' final hitting percentages on Saturday – Ashland .198, Trevecca Nazarene .185. There were 30 tie scores and 15 lead changes throughout the match.
  • Freshman right-side hitter GraceAnn Hartman paced the Eagle offense with 10 kills, while hitting .280. Senior setter Zoey Peck dished out 31 assists, and on defense, senior libero Sophie Dahn and junior defensive specialist Stephanie Smith each recorded a team-high 11 digs.
 
UP NEXT
Ashland will go out of conference for a road match on Tuesday (Oct. 5) at 6 p.m. vs. Central State (11-5).
