Two of Ashland University's women's basketball players have earned 2019-20 first-team All-Midwest Region selection from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Eagle seniors Jodi Johnson (guard) and Sara Loomis (forward) are first-team all-region performers – Johnson for the third time in her AU career, Loomis for the first time. Johnson joins Andi Daugherty and Laina Snyder as three-time first-team D2CCA all-region selections in AU women's basketball history.
Johnson averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals this season, while shooting 57.5 percent from the field, 50.9 percent from 3-point range and 83.8 percent from the free-throw line. Her 2,181 career points are second-most in program history, she is the program's all-time leader in free throws made (529) and free-throw percentage (84.9), and she is No. 3 all-time in field-goal percentage (57.1), assists (464) and steals (354).
Loomis went for 16.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks shots per game in 2019-20, while making 53.7 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from the 3-point line and 87.4 percent from the charity stripe. She is the program's eighth all-time leading scorer (1,476 points), and is second all-time in free-throw percentage (84.6) and blocked shots (240).
