Box Score Look out; the AU Eagles are starting to get on a roll.
The Ashland University volleyball squad collected its third consecutive victory of the season when they rolled 3-0 over the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday evening. The Eagles won 28-26, 25-18, 25-17.
In the first set, AU played neck and neck with the Timberwolves coming out with a 28-26 win. Tied at 26-26, Rylee Scott came up with a timely kill and an NU attack error gave the Eagles the two point margin needed to win the set.
The Eagles won the second set after being down 11-5 before regrouping and outscoring Northwood 20-7 to finish out the set, 25-18.
Set three began with an Alli Cudworth kill to go up 1-0 and the Eagles never looked back. AU didn't trail in the third set and won it convincingly 25-17.
The star of the afternoon was AU sophomore Alli Cudworth. She collected 16 kills on the afternoon and had a kill percentage of .222. Samantha Zuber, Casey Clark and Rylee Scott also chipped in for the Eagles and registered six kills.
The Eagles improve on the season to 4-7 overall and are 4-3 in the GLIAC. Northwood falls to 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the GLIAC.
Ashland will be back on the road next weekend when they take on Grand Valley State and Ferris State.
