Box Score The AU volleyball team swept California (Pa.) on Saturday(Sept. 7) afternoon to complete a 3-1 weekend at the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational.
Cal went to the NCAA playoffs a year ago and reached the regional final. The Eagles took down the Vulcans 25-23, 25-10 and 31-29. AU also went to the NCAA postseason in 2012. Last year's visit was AU's first since 2007.
Freshman outside hitter Alli Cudworth had 15 kills to lead the Eagles. Senior outside hitter Kate Eckels contributed 10 kills. Senior defensive specialist Marci Zegarac had 18 digs and sophomore setter Shelly DeHenning had 38 assists. Freshman outside hitter Casey Clark had 10 digs.
Cudworth had six kills in the 31-29 verdict that ended the afternoon for the Vulcans.
Next weekend (Friday-Saturday), AU hosts the Quality Inn Invitational.
