Dr. Mitch Metzger

AT ASHLAND UNIVERSITY
  • Is in his sixth year, and fifth full year, as Ashland's Faculty Athletic Representative, working as the athletic department's liaison with the school's faculty and providing oversight of the academic integrity of the athletics program and serving as an advocate for student-athlete well-being.
  • As FAR, questions on eligibility and NCAA rules and regulations were directed toward Metzger. He also represents the athletic department at Great Midwest Athletic Conference meetings for athletic directors, institution presidents and faculty representatives.
  • Metzger is a Professor of Psychology at Ashland, and served as the Chair of the Departments of Psychology, Criminal Justice and Social Work, Addictions, Counseling, Prevention and Human Services from 2007-2021. He joined AU's faculty in 2003, and has degrees in Psychology from Bowling Green (BS in 1992), and Kent State (MA in 1994, PhD in 1997).
