AT ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

  • Kohuth was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director on Aug. 4, 2022. He is in his seventh year as the athletic department's Director of Game Operations/Facilities/Ticketing and Camps.
  • He is responsible for operations for certain Ashland University home athletic events, supervises the athletic department budget, and works closely with the AU business office.
BEFORE ASHLAND UNIVERSITY
  • Kohuth was an Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations at NCAA Division I Yale, beginning his career with the athletic department as an intern in 2012 while an undergraduate student at Ashland University. In December of 2015, he was promoted.
  • He operated the Department’s Contest Management program, and was responsible for coordinating and executing event operations for Yale’s 35 varsity programs. In addition to his contest management responsibilities, he was the sport administrator for five varsity programs: women’s openweight crew, men’s heavyweight crew, men’s lightweight crew, and men’s and women’s fencing.
  • In addition to his role within Yale’s athletic department, he served on the NCAA’s Fencing Northeast Regional Advisory Committee, and was the Ivy League Fencing Coaches Group Administrative Liaison.
  • In 2018, Kohuth was recognized by the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) as its Event Manager of the Year. This award recognizes an athletics administrator who has hosted an inordinate number of events/championships on their campus over the course of the year and strives to enhance the quality of the experience for participating institutions and guests.
  • During the 2016-17 season, Kohuth supported the production of seven major sporting events, including four Ivy League Championships.

PERSONAL

  • A 2013 graduate of Ashland University, Kohuth has been involved in the planning and execution of large-scale, sporting events. Prior to joining Yale Athletics, he supported the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC). Following his work with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Kohuth joined the Cleveland Special Events Corporation as a Sports Coordinator. Shortly after joining the organization, Kohuth was promoted to Sports and Operations Manager.
  • In the January of 2016, Kohuth earned a Master of Science degree while enrolled in the University of New Haven’s Management of Sport Industries program. While studying, he interned with Yale’s Athletic Department in its Varsity Sports Operations Office as a Graduate Intern.
  • A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Kohuth is an avid fan of all Cleveland sports.
