Brook Turson

AT ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

  • Turson is in his 11th season on the Ashland University men’s basketball staff, and third as the program's associate head coach.
  • His first year as the full-time assistant (2020-21) saw the Eagles reach new heights. Ashland captured its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship ever and advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. The Eagles' win in the NCAA tournament was the program's first since 1991. 
  • Turson is currently involved in all aspects of the men’s program including recruiting, calling the defense, and development of the Eagles' guards and wing players.
  • In his first two seasons on staff, Turson was a graduate assistant for the Eagles. 
  • A former guard for the Eagles (2012-15), Turson was a three-year starter and team captain. He was the second-leading scorer his senior season, which included the Eagles' first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division championship. For his career, Turson averaged nine points per game, shot nearly 38 percent from 3-point range, and twice led the Eagles in steals per game.

PERSONAL

  • Turson obtained his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science (2015) and his Masters of Education (2017) from Ashland University. He started his collegiate career at Central Michigan University, then later Columbus State Community College.
  • He is a 2010 graduate of Plymouth High School. He scored 2,063 career points, was a three-time All-Ohio selection, and was a four-time Firelands Conference Player of the Year. He played for his father, Brad.
  • Turson and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Plymouth with their daughters, Blaire and Camryn.
