The first medalist honor for Ashland University redshirt freshman Krystal Hu has been followed by her first conference honor.
On Wednesday (March 29), Hu was named the second Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's golf Athlete of the Week for the spring 2017 season. A week ago, senior Kaitlin Neumann won the initial 2017 spring GLIAC honor.
At the Perry Park Spring Fling on Saturday and Sunday (March 25-26), Hu won the event with a three-round total of 77-73-71—221.
In her first three collegiate tournaments, spanning seven rounds, Hu is averaging a round of 77 and has two top-10 finishes.
Ashland will take part in the NC4K Classic at Ohio Dominican on Sunday and Monday (April 2-3).
