Neumann Wins SVSU Invite On Second Playoff Hole

Ashland University senior Kaitlin Neumann has gotten off to a strong start to the 2017 spring season.

Neumann, who finished in a tie for ninth at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 5-6, earned her first medalist honor of 2016-17 following the second playoff hole on Day 2 of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Sunday (March 19) in Georgetown, Ky.

After 36 holes, Neumann was tied with Trevecca Nazarene's Alexa Rippy at 153 (79-74), necessitating the playoff.

As a team, the Eagles finished in second place (322-316—638), eight shots behind champion Grand Valley State (322-308—630).

Following Neumann was redshirt freshman Krystal Hu, whose 79-80—159 was good for a tie for ninth individually. Sophomore Monica Torda placed 16th at 80-82—162.

Sophomore Morgan Eib (T-18th, 84-80—164) and freshmen Logan Pottorf (T-88th, 95-93—188) and Anna Schatschneider (T-90th, 96-93—189) rounded out the Eagle effort.
