Eagle Women Finish Fifth At Northwood Invite


Moving down one spot to its final place in the standings, Ashland University's women's golf team took fifth at the Northwood University Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 4).

The Eagles followed up a first-day team score of 310 with a second-day 324 for a 634 total. Findlay won the event at 586, followed by the host Timberwolves (613), Northern Michigan (617) and Ferris State (631).

Sophomore Morgan Eib led the Ashland charge, finishing seventh individually with a two-day showing of 76-74—150. Those two rounds are Eib's best in the first three tournaments of 2016-17.

Senior Kaitlin Neumann, the first-round tourney leader, ended at 70-81—151 and tied for eighth.

Also competing for the Eagles were sophomores Monica Torda (tied for 38th, 80-85—165) and Kayleigh McHugh (tied for 44th, 84-84—168) and freshman Anna Schatschneider (tied for 47th, 85-85—170).
